So just to confirm ... I just tried pressing the Call Button on the steering wheel and Google Voice worked. I was then able to send a text message without problems. This was with an unwired Samsung Galaxy S6.

Hi, i have recently purchased a 2017 Qashqai Tekna but cant get the voice activation to work at all, button does nothing, NIssan customer service have told me that the 2017 Qashqai doesnt have voice activation, does anybody know if this is true???

That's correct. My dealer informed me, when I collected my Qashqai a few weeks ago, that Nissan have removed the voice activation functionality.

Thank you for that Sandgrounder, i am surprised as i would of thought that the voice activation is less dangerous than having to glance down at the screen !!!!!!!

You're welcome. It seems a silly omission on Nissan's part as it is far more dangerous, as you say, to have to cope with the Connect system to make a phone call!

To avoid misunderstanding.

Voice activation was never on the eu versions. Only the USA versions had voice activation installed on exactly the same hardware.

But when using a modern smartphone, like Windows mobile with Cortana, Android, with google voice or iphone with siri connected via bluetooth . It is possible to use the voice support of your smartphone to make a call of play a song from your smartphone.

With the latest version of 'Google' installed I now get a problem when I long press the Call Button. On pressing it I now get what sounds like a dial tone which is very loud. I can just about hear the assistant talking in the background but it doesn't seem to be able to hear me properly (works sometime). If I uninstall all the updates it goes back to working correctly.

Anyone else having this problem ?
