You're happy with what you ended up with... that's the main thing. ;)

Life with the new qashqai is not off to a good start :(

I've got less that 100 miles on the clock & I need to go back to the dealer this morning due to an oil leak (I think it's from the driveshaft seal)

Maybe a stupid question, but is it definitely oil and not possibly just water, condensate from the aircon system?

It's definitely oil as you can smell it burning when you stop in traffic.

I think it's gearbox oil so possibly the driveshaft seal.

If you can smell it burning oil when you stop, that would suggest the initial leak is somewhere else higher up and is leaving the vehicle at a lower point of contact. Ive previously had driveshaft seals fail and didnt get a burning smell.

All sorted (fingers crossed)
They found an oil feed pipe to the turbo wasn't tight. They tightened it up & cleaned as much oil up as they could but want me to pop in next week to double check it.

I can't fault them on the speed they sorted it.

It was just luck that I looked out of an upstairs window and noticed the oil on the road. We are off to Manchester on Sunday morning (from York) so it will get a nice steady run.

Car is back in the garage :(
After they fixed the oil leak I did just over 100miles with no smoke or burning smell then yesterday when dropping my lad off for an exam we got smoke coming out of the air vent.
Dealer said to ring RAC who came out within 45mins. He couldn't tell if it was a new leak due to everything being covered in oil so it had to go back for them to give it a proper clean & check (garage said they had cleaned it the best they could but I may get a few drips or slight smell for a couple of days)
