The senors on my car suddenly started reading systems fault and all the controls on my dashboard were flashing, indicating that something was wrong. I went to Nissan and it was confirmed that all the four senors on my car had been literally chewed up. It would cost me between £400 to £500 to fix. I was informed that it is a common problem. I also witnessed another person complaining about the same issue. Has anyone had the same problem and if so, how can I prevent a repeat as Nissan cannot guarantee it happening again.

Zukie, the problem is most likely Marders or Weasels. There was another post on this with a pic of the evil animal and a write up with some suggestions on how to overcome this problem, Sprays, Electrics etc..... - Dave 😲

Hello Guys,

Whenever there's any hint of harm or rat droppings in the motor compartment, it is fundamental to leave your hood up around evening time. You ought to do this for the initial 1-2 weeks consistently and after that 2-3 times each week once you feel good that there are no more rodents visiting your auto. This basically disposes of the motor compartment as a potential settling grounds by taking ceaselessly the glow, enabling more dampness to enter, and presenting it to all the more light.

I have had a small nest in the engine compartment of my Miata when I put it into winter storage. The conventional advice is to put some Bounce fabric dryer sheets or mothballs into the nooks or crannies. The smell is supposed to keep the rodents away.
