I have just got my Qashqai TI 2015 . Through AUX I can play the music that is on my phone but I can't get to the USB . Option is not coming up. The flash drive in the USB port is blinking red. Any suggestions please.

May not be formatted correctly, or too many files on it.

I thought the J11s didn't really matter what the formatting was, and if it had exceeded the number of files that's more of a software playback issue, probably wouldn't cause it to flash red.

Try another USB flash drive. Just get a cheap one from somewhere, format as FAT32 and just stick 1 mp3 on it to test.

The USB stick needs to be formatted as FAT32. If the stick is larger than 32Gb you will need a propriety piece of software to do this as Windows won't do it for you.

Take a look here if needed:

I have no idea how to format the flash drive. It worked perfectly on my 2013 Murano. I tried a MP3 player, the audio device just doesn't seem to find USB port.

I would break the problem down into steps. If you have already formatted the USB stick on a computer, have you added a few MP3 files and can you play this music on the computer? If not obviously the problem is the USB stick and not the car. Once you have established this, take the stick out to the car. I presume you know that it must be plugged in the USB port in the arm rest and not the one on the dashboard? Once plugged in start the car and press the aux button on the dashboard. If this does not recognise the stick press the button a second time as there is the potential with the car to use more than 1 aux device so you can cycle between them by pressing the button again. If recognised, the car will then index the files found. If you have only put a couple on the stick it will only take a second and the files will then be accessible to use. I hope this helps.

Try a different USB stick.

Definitely try a different USB stick, some makes simply don't work in the QQ (there's a few threads if you search). I use a Toshiba 64Gb and it's been great.

Also is yours as USB 3.0 or 2.0? If 3.0 try a 2.0.

Your USB is too large and that may be your problem. Try a smaller one ideally up to 16g to see if working in order to eliminate whether it's the USB stick or the unit USB port. Format to fat32 is a must in any case
