Hi everyone, thanks for the add, some great information on the site.
I know your all a bit bored of it now! But another Air con issue , this time out of warranty. Anyone had any experience of dealing with dealers/ NCS over this issue without warranty protection? its booked in next week with lookers Chester for an inspection, I’m worried about shelling out 100’s of £ for them to just say “no warranty mate,£130 for a regas, we’ll go from there” 64 plate 1.5d Acenta prem J11. thanks in advance for any help.

I discussed the Condenser problem today with our Service Technician and admitted that this was a Nissan problem and still customer are complaining, but many QQ’s are now out of Guarantee or 2nd Hand and it is difficult to address especially also if the Service Book has not been Stamped by a Nissan Dealer. Re-Gassing is not the way out with the older QQ’s. He did mention a leak could be seen by Black Marks seen on the Condenser surface and this is how it was found on our QQ, it was changed and we have never had an Air Con problem since - Dave :)

Thanks for that Dave, ours we’ve had from New and it’s full dealer SH, and there are the dreaded ‘dark masks’ on the condenser. Was yours under warranty then or not?
Many thanks again

From what I can remember ours was one of the 1st to be found and our Dealer Stuck it up on a Hyd Ramp and then spotted the dreaded black marks. They mentioned a long delivery but it arrived from Amsterdam in days and was installed naturally under Guarantee. We had the normal 3 year Guarantee and got a 4th year free which is finished in Aug 18. So today’s Service was virtually the last chance to claim anything 🤨 - Dave :)
PS : you could try discussing this with your Dealer or NCS as this is a known Nissan Problem, if they are helpful they might accept it. You have nothing to lose by asking you can only get a Yes or No response - Give it a Go !

I have just had to have the condenser replaced and I had exactly the same symptoms . My QQ is just over 3 years old with 24000 miles on it.

I had to pay though the dealer was very fair and gave me a good discount as it was a known problem but I was out of the warranty period. I had to pay -for the following Inspection £120 and a new condenser about £300. Each garage prices could be different. I used the main Nissan dealer in the South West.

Hope this helps

Peter

Update, cars been inspected by local dealers (lookers Chester) at no cost! they have confirmed the condenser is faulty and are contacting Nissan to enter a warranty claim.
How much will it cost me? No indication yet, but fingers crossed, I’m hoping the ‘2 new cars we’ve bought off them in 4 years leads to some sort of loyalty?
We’ll see......

Free. Nothing. Zero.
Nissan are picking up the bill for the condenser.

The least they could do imo for fitting their cars with parts that are not fit for purpose.

Really feel for honest punters who have to pay a fortune through no fault of their own.
