I have a fault on my Nissan QashQai 2017 , 14 months old, its the front offside TPMS sensor I am not getting any reading from it , I was but not now.
No problem so took it into to Nissan, sorry we think that, that wheel has a non standard TPMS fitted. So cannot do anything
We can check but it will cost you £60 to attach the computer to it. ???
Question, How can it have a non standard TPMS when the wheel has never been off, ????
What are my options, Take it to a tyre place get them to take the tyre off, take a picture of the sensor and then go back to Nissan, but what if it is a non standard sensor???

Are you owner from new?
If so, you'd know car's history and would progress with Nissan Cust Service if dealer being
intransigent.
Nissan TPMS's self calibrate and shouldn't need any activation after tyre repair/ change.
It may be a faulty Nissan TPMS though don't recall it ever being reported here; as is still
under Warranty, Nissan must replace at their cost.

Dave, as this is a new J11B Model I would think that your Dealer should check it out Cost Free under Guarantee to prove this is a non standard part. Has the QQ been Serviced and Stamped by a Nissan Dealer or the Tyre / Wheel been repaired ?.
I would think that just as part of Nissan Customer Service they should not just “Think” but they should check it out - Dave
But the big “But” is the unfortunate statement which can be found in the Nissan Guarantee attached under “Excluded Items” - Tyres & Valves are not covered :

You could argue that the TPMS sensor is neither a tyre or a valve, it is an electronic component inside a wheel.
If you've had the car since new and they say it's a non-standard part, then surely you are in your rights to complain to Nissan as to why, and to get them to sort it.

Doesn't look like it - the first paragraph says for cars under 3 years old.gloucester wrote: ↑Wed Jul 18, 2018 1:04 pm DaveBerlin - isn't that the extended warranty conditions you've posted?

Gloucester, the reason I kept this Doc was to keep an eye on what was covered and the way I read this the Warranty is as Chris has stated, it is the 36 month Warranty not the Extended - Dave

I dug out the extended warranty - I didn't realise you could now extend up to 10 years and 100,000 miles - as long as you renew still within your previous extended warranty.
Another clause I've just noticed for the first time... total claims for the lifetime of the warranty will only be paid up to the purchase cost of your vehicle. In my case that's £14,500 when I got it.
As I've just had the engine replaced under warranty, that's going to have eaten a large chunk of that already.
