Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai - J11 (2013–2017)

Hello,

Just bought my first Qashqai. 2014 1.5dci Tekna. It’s got full Nissan service history and it has done 85k. Only had it a week and I love it already. My previous car was a 2009 C-Class 2.1cdi. I’ve so far updated the firmware using a guide on the forum (did it whilst I drove to work, took about an hour) I’ve also ordered the latest sat nav sd card which should be here early next week.

Any suggestions of anything else you might recommend I do to it to get the best out of it?

Rob.

Welcome aboard; same vintage & spec as mine. You may want to update your forum
signature showing model/ year/ etc & your location. Continue with Nissan servicing it as
cost includes 12 months roadside breakdown cover (RAC).

Hi Gel. Thanks for the reply. It got serviced in October this year, so does that mean the breakdown cover automatically transfers to me as the new keeper? I’ve also updated my signature 👍🏻

You should have documents in the service record if it's covered.

"In addition, you'll gain one of our Customer Promises every time you service your car at your local Nissan dealership. This means you can continue to enjoy one year's Nissan Roadside Assistance (even after your initial three years) completely free of charge. "

Did you check that the cambelt has been changed:

All engines are chain-driven apart from the 1.5 dCi, which needs a fresh cambelt every five years or 75,000 miles; expect to pay £480-£550 depending on labour rate.

Yours is over the mileage stipulation even if not at the time stipulation yet. So it should have been changed by now but might have been missed.

EDIT - that quote was from https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/nissan/qa ... qai-review but I notice that the service costs are too low there (the minor service has increased in price by £40 to include for a pollen filter change on an annual basis) and the cambelt change price might be a bit higher particularly if you change the water pump at the same time.
