Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Post by Enzo »

Hi everybody and thank you for the add.
Please can you help/assist and advise.
I am looking at buying a used Qashqai, but stuck on which model to go for. I dont do a lot of mileage, probably 7000 annually. I am not a boy racer but I dont want to feel like I have to tell people to get out and walk due to lack of power. I live in Bradford (for my sins) and so it's quite hilly. So the million dollar question, diesel or petrol and which size engine? What do I need to look out for?
I am going to look at a 2012 N-Tec + 1.6 Is Dci this morning.
Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards Enzo

Welcome to this forum.

At your price point that's probably not a bad choice, apart possibly from it being diesel - is your 7,000 miles a lot of short trips or fewer long ones?

OLDER QQ's as you're looking at have experienced dpf regeneration problems;
it'll be more likely as Gloucester hints at, with lots of short trips.

The later version J11 models, 2014 on, have an improved dpf system; I did lots of short trips
in my 1.5dci, and never had any issues.
It had plenty of "go" for my needs, though needed more gear changing
than on previous cars I'd had.

Hi Gloucester
Many thanks for your response.
It is mixed mileage, motorway and normal roads.
It is a dilemma, petrol or diesel and engine size.
Thanks Enzo :)
