Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Post by Greybeard »

Hi all

Newbie looking for advice. I got a budget of £12k. Not really sure what to look for? Too many types of trim. Engine size of 1.2, is that enough for a car this size? Any common faults I should look out for?
Any advice much appreciated and can’t go beyond £12k.
Thanks

Welcome to this forum.

Read through the topics on this forum on both the 1.2 and the auto (if you're that way inclined) before making a decision.

I found the 1.2 ample for my needs - boy racer days over.

Avoid Visia - not enough toys.

I liked my Tekna - had targeted an N-Connecta but the test drive was in a Tekna and I bought it.

I bought a 2014 1.6 Acenta Premium auto for about that money from a main dealer with 2 years warranty, has all the toys I need and plenty of power. Have a good look on Autotrader and look at the specs, you will soon find what's on the various cars. Just be aware, if it is of concern, 2017 cars and before, may have lower annual road fund licenses. I pay £30 pa

If buying a 1.2 or a CVT auto make sure you have a warranty, Nissan preferred for when they break

I am on my 2nd qashqai and just love them!
Anyway my preference would be a 1.5dci, great fuel consumption plenty of power and go for the tekna (all the toys, heated leather seats etc
My choice would be a 2016 1.5dci tekna, there are 7 black models (didn't check other colours) at present on autotrader within your budget and some with low mileage i.e. 16.700mls and a few in the 20k bracket too!
Apart from a dodgy battery I ve been very impressed with the Qashqais I have had, not everybody though.
Best check through the forum for possible faults.
Good luck, happy hunting!

One small drawback denting the 1.5's copybook is that it has a cambelt which needs changing at 5 years/75k so factor in £500/£600 for that.

... and hopefully you don't live in Bristol!

If you live in Bristol and drive a diesel you will soon be banned from driving!

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-50292596

Bristol is set to become the UK's first city to ban diesel cars from entering parts of the city centre in a bid to cut air pollution.

Bristol City Council has agreed to ban privately owned diesel cars from a central zone in the daytime. Commercial vehicles will pay to enter the area.

The city has long suffered from poor air quality, particularly from high levels of nitrogen dioxide (NO2).

The scheme, which needs government approval, is due to start in 2021.

Gloucester, take a look at the plans for Berlin (Capital City of Germany) and what a Joke it could turn out to be - Dave 🙄
The first of several Diesel bans is in place. Signs were installed, saying all vehicles with Diesel engines up to Euro norm 5 are banned. Only clean cars, such as electric ones, and vehicles propelled by gasoline or Diesel Euro norm 6 engines are allowed to enter that street from now on. Also the city neither had the street signs it needed, nor a company which could have installed them.
There are many exceptions to the Diesel ban. Residents living in any Diesel ban areas may ignore it in the vicinity of their home. The same applies to craftsmen working in those areas, delivery and nursing services and taxi drivers who need to transport people there.
