Hopefully this information on another EV is of interest - Dave 😊
This Lucid Air EV is an electric car that first appeared as a Concept in 2016, but is now looking very interesting regarding its mileage range. Within Lucid Air is a company called Atieva that since 2018 has supplied battery packs for all cars in the Formula E racing series. They have a contract to supply battery packs for Formula E until 2022, so regarding the Battery Technology there appears to be some Know-how.

“The base model will be equipped with a single motor, rear wheel drive setup. The Lucid Air can be optioned with improved battery packs as well as a dual motor, all-wheel drive powertrain producing up to 1000 horsepower for the top of the range.”

“It has been designed to compete with existing brands in the electric vehicle (EV) industry, in particular the Tesla Model S from Tesla, Inc. The first all-electric car from Lucid Motors is expected to set a new industry benchmark — and record," as the Lucid Air sedan is estimated to achieve an EPA-rated range of 517 miles on a single charge. It will be officially unveiled on September 9, 2020.”

Autocar is reporting that the base model (capable of travelling 240 miles on a single charge) will cost from around $52,500 (£40,190).

Really?

That looks easily like a £100k+ car!

The windscreen replacement cost alone will send insurance salesmen into apoplexy!
