Recently peter212693 Test Drove a new 1,3L 140PS QQ and has now placed an order, he was advised that there were models being discontinued and New Models being changed around. On corresponding with Peter more information has come to light from the webs and comments here on German QQ Sites (inc Motor-Talk / Super-Tec etc) regarding Dealer / Customer comments. See attached in German just one example :

07AC55F6-4313-4CF9-A14F-701F3D5E4F15.jpeg

Some of the Facts :
1. What has come to light is that Nissan appear to be discontinuing the existing QQ Range and are introducing a New Range called SHIRO (Acenta Premium - Basis) / ZAMA (N-Connecta Basis) / AKARI (Tekna Basis). Therefore the Visia / N-Way / N-Tec / Tekna + will no longer be available.
2. As from October 20 only two Engine Options will be available : 1.3L DIG-T 140PS 6MT & the 1.3L DIG-T 160PS DCT. Both will be produced to meet EURO 6D FULL Specs.
3. No Diesels available.
4.There are some QQ Spec Changes also such as :
ZAMA inc Full LED Headlights / AKARI inc Premium BOSE System / ProPILOT, Pro Packet, Safety Shield, Dynamic Packet, Heated Windscreen are no longer available for all models.
5. Tekna has Black Nappa Leather with 3D Quilting, Electrical y Adjusted Front Seats, Electric Driver Lumber Support, Memory Seat & Mirror Function.
6. Not sure if the Color Coded Sides as on the Tekna + will still be used or is it Back to Black ?

The information seems at present to be only Dealer to Customer contact due to Old and new orders. As normal with Nissan there appears to be no Website, Broschure or Technical Information available, so at present it is only hearsay and searching. This is most likely the beginning of the facts as we are sure more general information appearing soon - Hopefully this is of interest Dave & Peter ๐Ÿ˜‰

Interesting...

I'm surprised they're discontinuing the diesels prior to launch of the new 2021 Qashqai.

I suspect so few of the Visia are sold it's not worth having a cheap version.

Gloucester, could this below be one of the reasons for the Diesel decision 1st Jan 2021. There looks to be a certain amount of Cost Cutting going on with the Specs and like the omission of ProPILOT, when this appears to be way of the Future and ProPILOT 2,0 is already around in Japan & the US, looks like we will have to wait until the QQ III is announced - Dave ๐Ÿ˜‰

I think they are looking at a hybrid in the QQ III I believe over here in the UK so this will probably be the replacement for the diesels. The new QQ was supposed to be released this year but with covid that has been delayed. My guess is they had already geared down the factory for stopping production of the diesel anyway they just called it.

Peter, it could well be this Nissan e-Power Technology which has been mentioned a lot - Dave ๐Ÿคจ

โ€œThe e-Power technology uses an internal combustion engine as a generator. The ICE feeds a small battery that in turn powers an electric motor responsible for driving the wheels unlike a parallel hybrid electric vehicle. Nissan says that e-Power delivers massive torque almost instantly, operates very quietly, and consumes fuel comparable to a parallel hybrid electric powertrain. The company also offers the benefit of its proprietary e-Pedal single-pedal driving feature in its e-Power vehicles.โ€

Here is a US Comment :
โ€œUnder the surface, the all-new Qashqai / Rogue Sport will be based on the latest evolution of the CMF-C/D platform shared with the bigger 2021 Nissan X-Trail / Rogue. Expect turbocharged petrol engines with 48-volt mild-hybrid assistance, an e-Power range-extender EV powertrain, and a plug-in hybrid variant sourced from Mitsubishi. Diesel fans could be in for a disappointment though as reports claim the European Qashqai will no longer offer oil burners.โ€

The 2021 Nissan Qashqai will be its most efficient version yet : https://electricvehicleweb.in/2021-niss ... rsion-yet/

DaveBerlin - I suspect you're right - I hadn't heard that engine standards are changing yet again! This constant flux must be hell for the auto makers.

Here are some facts from Nissan Germany on the 3 QQ versions available from Oct 1st. I am sorry but this is a German Document and I do not have time to translate ๐Ÿฅด. But it does show that there are facts around now. As stated these are the Shiro / Zama / Akuri in Germany and there some options available inc the Panoramic Roof but on specific models. There are also facts on the N-Connecta / Tekna / Tekna + but my feeling is these are possibly the Higher Spec run down models, but I could be wrong - Dave ๐Ÿ˜

Hi guys,

Sorry for the delay in coming back on here but I can confirm this is the same over here. I actully picked mine up from the dealer yestreday! They have killed off the N-Tec, Tekna and Tekna+ here and replaced all 3 with the "N-Motion" this is what I got in replacement. They did communicate this with me to be fair and not much else changed.

Nissan UK have finally updated their website to show the only 3 Qashqai models available to buy new:
  • Acenta Premium;
    N-Connecta; and
    N-Motion.
There are only two petrol engines to choose from. One manual and one automatic. Thatโ€™s your lot!

Nissan have temporarily removed the Qashqai configurator tool as well.
