Nissan’s Blue Switch project unlocks the energy stored in car batteries to help people hit by earthquakes, typhoons or other emergencies. In May 2018, the Blue Switch project was launched. Its mission: to demonstrate how electric vehicles can be used as power sources for purposes beyond mobility. In a typical year, powerful storms will disrupt the lives of millions, knocking out power to entire cities.
