Naoki Nakada, Is one of Nissan’s chief powertrain engineers, he’s been in charge of developing some of the brand’s most iconic engines, including the revered VR38DETT engine which provides the muscle and acceleration of the R35 GT-R - Dave 🤨

The Chief powertrain engineer is deeply involved in the development of the e-Power. An electric motor-run car gives the best torque in stop-and-go situations, and you also get good response and smooth acceleration and delivers massive torque almost instantly, improving drive response and smooth acceleration, while also operating in a very quiet manner, much like a full EV. The e-POWER relies on the engine much less frequently and is more fuel efficient. Minimizing battery size and compartmentalizing powertrain components to fit a compact vehicle were the first challenges the batteries are 1/20th the size of the Leaf’s.
