Another New Updated Nissan the X-Trail - Dave 😊

“To complement Nissan’s range of striking crossovers, next summer (2022) will see the introduction of the all-new X-Trail, whose world debut took place today at Auto Shanghai 2021. Like its cousin the All-New Qashqai, it will be based upon the Alliance CMF-C platform, which is the highly advanced architecture which was designed to accommodate Nissan’s advanced e‑POWER powertrain, as well as being a showcase of highly evolved driver assistance technology, improved refinement and dynamic performance.
The all-new X-Trail will be the fourth generation of the successful family-oriented model and will retain the formula of the previous generations, offering a flexible and versatile interior for buyers with a sense of adventure combined with the latest Nissan on-board technologies. Like the current X-Trail, the new iteration will be available with a folding third row of seats offering extra convenience for families and friends to share rich experiences away from home, but it will remain sufficiently compact for easy parking.”

The way I see it is that the ... NEW qashqai is already in fact ... an OLD qashqai !
If we look at the digital cockpit as well as the infotainment system (12 inch !?) of the 2022 X-Trail looks far more 2021 to me than even the new 2021 J12 Qashqai.
People that previewed the J12 on Youtube already claimed (8 inch, only in the upper trims 9inch) infotainment system of the J12 was old fashion compared to the competition and Nissan sure seems to know it too.
Great for the X-trail, IMHO ... not so for the Qashqai.

QaiFan, I couldn’t agree more with you. That J12 display is a joke with huge unused space on its sides.
Xtrail interior is far more reflecting the current trend, though I would say already “outdated” for 2022. The trend is large all cockpit display as Mercedes is using now. What we see in planned Xtrail, should have already been in J12.

Well what are the reasons, developements, technology, timing, costs etc who knows only Nissan. The Nissan Rogue US 2021 is naturally very similar or perhaps they should have considered the Ariya Version. Do not forget that there are many Customers that do not need all this High Tech Stuff and they get very confused even with today’s QQ, as you can see from questions that arise - Dave 😏

What looks odd on screen however is the brown tops of fascia and doors when paired with the black interior

... but with the grey and tan (see above) you get black tops!
