News from the “Beeb”, highly likely there will be delays to deliveries but let’s hope not - Dave 🤨

“Nissan has furloughed hundreds of workers at its Sunderland plant after a number of Covid cases caused a staffing shortage. Most late-shift production has been halted because staff have had to self-isolate. Nissan has transferred some staff originally on late-shifts to day-time work to ensure it has enough personnel.”

I was @ our Dealer today (Free Car Wash) and our Sales Guy has informed me he has 4x QQ in Stock now but only an Acenta is in the Showroom at present, in a couple of weeks a Tekna + will be available for a Test Drive.
Now as Buffy has informed and I also naturally asked, there is huge delay on deliveries due to this Chip Problem which resulted in the June 18th Plan at the Dealers to be put back. This will result in a delay of many months (3-4 months) and even the Ariya will also be affected by at least 6 months. The German “Automobilwoche” states also that at least 500,000 vehicles will not be built - Not Good News Dave 🥴

Gloucester, if you are interested here are the Wheels & an Engine View, our Dealer comment was again no Engine Cover which would neaten things up. The Bonnet is lighter due to the Ally Material also - Dave 😏
Sorry pics not great due to the sun in the Showroom !

@DaveBerlin/Buffy who wrote a.o. "... This will result in a delay of many months (3-4 months) ..."
What is meant by that ... do you mean most/all deliveries will be postponed for that long or only certain trim levels and for the new QQ too ????
Thanks

This was a comment if a QQ was ordered now so you should be able to relax as yours has already been placed. It really does not matter what is said anymore as it is now just a Waiting Process until these uncontrollable delays are overcome unfortunately - Dave 😊

I ordered a Tekna today (27th June 2021) which has been logged onto the system and has now been processed to be built as and when - it should be delivered to the dealership on the 27th August 2021.

I did query the semiconductor shortage but apparently Nissan have prioritised their existing and new stock of chips for the new Qashqai models for the time being. 🤷🏻‍♂️

On a couple of the Facebook groups, people have been taking delivery of their new Qashqai’s (mostly Premiere editions - nice pictures).

Some have ordered a Qashqai, like myself, with a mid to late August delivery.

Others have placed orders within the last week (UK based) with expected delivery dates from mid-November to late December :(

Saw this at the dealership when I had my key done, engine cover removal is just a cost saving exercise i think, bonnet is much lighter but the killer blow is the roof height lowered.
I sat in it and adjusted the seat and I had about 2 inches clearance above my head.
