Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Post by Sandgrounder »

The Nissan Qashqai has been the most popular SUV in the UK ever since it first hit the market in the mid-2000s. Despite there being plenty on the road - and a new model hitting showrooms this year - values of second-hand examples are going up.

A three-year-old Qashqai with 30,000 miles tallied up in that time has risen in value over the last six months - on average - from £12,000 to almost £18,000.

Can't believe those figures!

They suggest:

12. Nissan Qashqai (2018-2021)

Avg value Mar 21: £11,929 - Avg value Sep 21: £17,901 - Avg £ increase: £5,973 - Avg % increase: 50%

Autotrader lists 1,802 Qashqais from 2018 available and they range from £11,000 for a diesel Acenta to an extremely optimistic (?) £26,846 for a 160 Tekna+ DCT.

Admittedly the median price is £18,100 (for an N-Connecta), very close to the Mail's £17,901 average - but was the average REALLY so low in March 2021?

Off Topic commentary:

I paid £13,149 for my Ignis 3.3 years ago and have done about 11k miles - the cheapest 2018 SZ5 on Autotrader is presently £9,800 for a 47k one with "Great Price" against an 11k one similar to mine though slightly older at £11,499.

The highest price is £15,094 for a base red one (£12,499 new) on only 2470 miles.

However a brand new one is priced at only £15,429 list before haggling (and paint). There are 14 apparently-in-stock new cars listed at Autotrader - closest to me is 37 miles away. However significantly there are NO automatics! Must be a shortage in that department.

The highest price for one with similar mileage to mine is £13,698 - or £549 MORE than I paid!

The median price for 2018 Ignis SZ5's is about £12k and the median price for ones under 15k miles is about £13.3k

I know Suzuki Jimny prices have been going haywire for a while since Suzuki discontinued them - though I suspect a lot is hype. I can't believe anyone would pay an astronomical £20,310 for the OLD model and the cheapest new model is £24,978 for a car which was £15-18k new.
