the unit I bought is the next base 302g I had a 16gig card installed which is plenty of memory as it writes in 3min or 5min segments and will store the last 3mins of any incident and not overwrite it also it comes with really impressive software

The one I use is configurable so you can tell it how many mb (or gb) you want it to use, and it just overwrites files when the user-defined capacity is reached. A tap on the screen marks the current recording as protected so it won't be over-written.
And the phone functions (bluetooth connection and call handling) are unaffected on my device. I don't have Connect so I can't speak for that.
