Qashqai Model: Mk.2 Qashqai Facelift - J11b (2017–2021)

Post by DaveBerlin »

Since Hearing whilst I was in Florida late last year that Nissan intended to introduce the European QQ into the US to replace the older Design Rogue I have been keeping my Eyes open :geek: and at last found some comments in the motoring press. Please take a look at the following taken "From Release Date of New Cars" - Dave :)

2016 Nissan Qashqa : The original Nissan Qashqai was first shown on the Paris Motor Show, back in 2006. All of a sudden it became one of the best moves, this Japanese automaker made in 2007, since it successfully sold this small SUV outside the U.S market, but in order to sell it inside the U.S, they had to make some small adjustments.
Since that first adjustments, this small crossover sold more than two million units that were produced. It is now in its second generation, it has sharper, more beautiful exterior design, increased interior space with updated technology and better engine palette that will save the environment and home budget. It looks like 2016 Nissan Qashqai kept all the good from the previous models, while revitalizing the rest.
This news came to surface because of a new camouflaged 2016 Nissan Qashqai, spotted in Spain, just a week after the leaked rumours considering the new compact Qashqai for the U.S markets. Since the new 2015 Nissan Qashqai had been unveiled last year, and the changes on this camouflaged Qashqai seem minor, we can only conclude that this is a prototype for the U.S bound version of 2016 Nissan Qashqai.
In this review we are going to go a little deeper in Nissan’s possible plans for 2016 Nissan Qashqai for the U.S markets and review the overall rumours including the exterior, interior, engine specs, release date and price.

2016 Nissan Qashqai Exterior :
Judging by what we saw from the spy photos the front part of the vehicle has some minor changes just to pass the U.S. DOT regulations. Headlights and the front fascia are going to be slightly different, but the rear is going to remain the same, and carried over from the European version. According to the sources from the “Automotive News”, Nissan is going to bring the 2016 Nissan Qashqai to the U.S., to slot it below the “Rogue” as a smaller compact entry of that crossover. Basically, Rogue and 2016 Nissan Qashqai are not that different. The 2016 Nissan Qashqai is a bit more sportier with more detailed body creases. One thing that we know for certain is that it is going to be built on the C platform, which is going to make the 2016 Nissan Qashqai lighter.

2016 Nissan Qashqai Interior :
The interiors of the 2016 Nissan Qashqai and the current Rogue are almost identical with the exception of the third row of seats, in this smaller variant. So we don’t expect some big changes when 2016 Nissan Qashqai comes to the U.S. markets. Since the cabin is now a bit longer, it comes with improved features like a bigger customized cargo space, new power steering, front collision avoidance, blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and traffic sign recognition.

2016 Nissan Qashqai Engine :
The 2016 Nissan Qashqai comes with the total of four engine options. Two gasoline engines and two diesel engine but none of them is 2.5 liter inline four engine offered in the Nissan Rogue. The base model of the new 2016 Nissan Qashqai is going to be equipped with a 1.2 liter turbocharged engine which gives this vehicle the total of 115 horsepower and the 1.6 liter l4 engine with the maximum power of 161 horsepower and 177 pound feet of torque.
The first diesel engine is 1.5 liter dCi engine with maximum power of 110 horsepower and 1.6 liter with 130 horsepower.
Every single version of this car has a fuel consumption below 5 liters for each 100 km. Those are the numbers for the European versions, obviously. The most probable engine for the U.S. markets will be the one used in Nissan Rogue, the 1.6 liter inline-four rated at 161 horsepower. Another difference and handicap for the U.S. markets is going to be exception of the smaller diesel engine and the 2016 Nissan Qashqai’s six speed manual gearbox, which will be replaced with the automatic.

2016 Nissan Qashqai Release Date and Price
The release date of the new 2016 Nissan Qashqai is scheduled for the end of this year with the base price of 28,600 dollars.
Overall it is a nice compact SUV, which has some seriously improved fuel economy, elegant and comfortable interior, sporty spirit and the approachable price tag. Only bad things are the exceptions of a diesel engine and manual transmission for the U.S. markets.
