I read this this morning in the UK / US and wondered how truthful this information is ?. I bought a Dyson Vac a couple of years back and it is the Best that the Wife has made me use. So hopefully this could be interesting if it is a Goer – Dave
The UK government appears to have accidentally confirmed Dyson is developing an electric car. In a document released on Wednesday, the government made reference to the fact it was funding a 'new battery electric vehicle' being developed by Malmsbury-based firm. But less than a day later, the reference in the document has now been changed to remove the line about the vehicle.
The report, uncovered by The Guardian originally said: 'The government is funding Dyson to develop a new Battery Electric Vehicle at their headquarters. 'This will secure £174m of investment in the area, creating over 500 jobs.' It now reads: 'The government is providing a grant of up to £16m to Dyson to support research and development for battery technology.'

@DaveBerlin, yes he is upping his game quite significantly, this isn't some half baked lets try build a car thing, it's a full on proper engineering effort! I for one am looking forwards to the Hullavington move as it'll make my commute to work easier

Wheelie Bealie, do you actually work for Dyson just being Nosey ! - nice products but expensive, best vacuum I have ever had .
Here are a few more Facts on the British Co. - Dave
The EV is due to launch in 2020 and the company made famous by its innovative vacuum cleaners is now promising to disrupt the existing battery car scene. Dyson told employees in autumn 2017 that the fast 'adoption of oxymoronically designated 'clean diesels'' spurred him on to make his own change in the electric car market. The inventor is investing £2 billion in further development of its own EV.

Dyson is geared up for an EV push thanks to its $90m acquisition of battery company Sakti3. The start-up, launched out of the University of Michigan, claims to have developed solid-state lithium-ion batteries producing over 400Wh/kg energy density.
That’s almost double the punch of Tesla’s Panasonic cells – reckoned to be the industry leader at around 240Wh/kg – effectively doubling an EV’s range while potentially slashing costs to $100 (£69) per kilowatt-hour, the tipping point at which EVs start to rival petrol/diesel-powered cars on costs.

A Dyson electric road sweeper would seem a sensible start for Mr D!
His after sales service on Dyson Vacuums we've owned is top notch; call centre is in Wiltshire and
always very helpful; they can sometimes diagnose by listening down the phone!
They'll send out replacement parts for free in 5 years of Guarantee; if it needs fitting an engineer will be sent;
let's hope his car will have such stellar back up.
I have a ball wheelbarrow, which I recall he invented some time ago, but only manufactured for a short
period before licensing out.
You may recall his fairly expensive washing machine too, but that didn't survive that long either.
Let's hope he never sells out to some US Hedge Fund vultures

Patents of the Dyson electric car have been revealed. The entrepreneur, who is best known for Dyson vacuum cleaners, revealed drawings of what the British firm's first zero-emissions model due in 2021 could look like - cars he controversially confirmed in October will be built in Singapore - Dave

“Sir James Dyson has scrapped his bold plan to make a Tesla-rivalling electric car as it would not be commercially viable. The famous British inventor, who made his name with revolutionary vacuum cleaners, claimed that his engineers had developed a 'fantastic electric car', but that it would not be able to make money”. - Dave
