But if a car is hit by lightening the occupants remain safe, it therefore acts as a Faraday Cage.
Signal Shield - IIRC the gaps in the cage/shield must be smaller than the wavelength of the electromagnetic wave you wish to block. Windows would be a significant problem. Maybe a box within the car into which you place your tellingbone ........
A lightening strike is not a electromagnetic wave
But the statement on gaps been smaller than the wavelength is correct, good home example is the front of a microwave cooker
A lightning strike is an electric discharge between the atmosphere and an earth-bound object. A "lightening strike" is an industrial action by hairdressers who use peroxide.
A Faraday cage is only effective for a range of frequencies of EM waves. Your windows are big holes in the cage, so wavelengths smaller than about a metre have no trouble getting through. Your GPS and mobile phone antennas still work inside your car-- wavelengths around 20 cm.

Gel, a nice find thanks for sharing it I have forwarded it to our Dealer and will wait for reactions. What I found a nice option was that music could still be played - Thanks again
I think I or we are from the "Old School" we always have our iPhones with us but they are only used when actually needed rachat de prêt. In the QQ phoning is only by Bluetooth thanks to Siri as the phone is in a pocket and when our system crashed recently and people tried to call, they had to wait until I had stopped. Sorry we are modern in most respects but these things when driving are Taboo, others will disagree which is their decision - Dave
You should have programmed your dashboard to sound when someone calls.
