Blocked DPF Filter

Hi there, we have had our first qashqai for a year, hubby drives a return 12 mile journey every day along an A road. Driving to work Friday the engine managemeng light came on and car went into limp mode. Green flag did diagnostics and said fault was DPF filter, driving at above 3000 revs in 4th gear for 20 mins should clear it. We did this yesterday but for 30 mins and no joy, still in limp mode and still got warning light. Does it look like a garage will have to perform a manual regeneration to clear it or should i try adding a DPF cleaner to fuel tank and try again.
We have extended warranty but dont think this would be covered. The car is only 5 yrz old so surprised we have had this problem. Has anyone else had same problem, any advice how to clear it

Unfortunately the J10 model doesnt 'self clean' the dpf like the new J11 does. You can take preventative measures to help prevent the dpf from clogging, but once this point is reached the dpf needs to be properly cleared and as I understand it requires an oil change as part of the process. Prices vary wildly from garage to garage so shop around. Mobile mechanics can also carry out the proceedure. Try looking at a franchise of TerraClean, ive heard a few good reports about their services.

Hi there. I am driving a new J11 diesel which i had for only two months but it has done this twice. When the engine management light comes on it shows system fault and the stop/start fails. The car also goes to limp mode. When i had the car for 4 days from new; it did it and i was told i am driving short distances; i am driving long distance now but it did it again. Any suggestions?

Faulty/sticking EGR valve, faulty rear oxygen sensor.

Get straight round to the dealer and tell them to get it fixed

My Qashqai 1.5 (2012) developed DPF problems for the first time last week. The yellow engine light (MIL) came on. I took it for a 30 min run on the motorway in 4th gear so the revs were around 3000 - I could feel the car becoming smoother as the DPF cleared. I also bought an ODM reader from Euro Car Parts for £20 that allows you to read the fault code and clear the fault light once the DPF is clear. The error code was P242F, something to do with DPF pressure differential I believe. It worked for me but I know there are so many variants out there it will not work for all.

Hi,
I cleared my DPF in my Qashqai with a specialised oil, however the error is still showing. What is the easiest way to clear the error? I read aboue the LC OBD OBD2 system but cannot seem to find what to buy? Any help hugely appreciated
thanks
