Hopefully this does not turn sour for Sunderland - Dave ;)

Blomberg Quotes :
The EU side may not be willing to sign up to such an accord. France, for example, could seize the opportunity to induce Nissan -- which is 43.4 percent owned by Renault SA, which in turn is 15 percent owned by the French state -- to try to move its Sunderland manufacturing operations across the English Channel, said Holmes.

“Ultimately, the French government would quite like to see the production that goes on in Sunderland replaced by production somewhere in France,” he said. “So the French government might have a long-term interest in making these rules of origin slightly stricter.”

The U.K. government has given assurances to Nissan and Toyota, two of the country’s biggest carmakers, that they will remain competitive after Brexit.

There is a lot of scaremongering going on against the UK democratic vote. But look around and most of the cars sold here are now from Germany and France. Even Ford Focus and Fiesta are made there. I bought my QQ to help support the local factory but I know a lot of parts they use come from elsewhere. Maybe if the EU impose sanctions on us we might get a better deal from Japan or the USA. I liked the Chrysler my daughter had in the US so I wouldn't have a problem changing. We already check where our everyday purchases come from and support UK farming. We now buy wine and other products from elsewhere.

This is how it works for “Honda” at present, Alloy Wheels delivered from Belgium to Swindon and most likely a similiar principle for other manufacturers - “Just in Time”, but is this going to change - Dave :)
