Sorry but this is not QQ related but just found this interesting how E-Vehicles whether Personal or Trucks (limited mileage) are beginning to appear into the Market at a very fast rate. It would be interesting to see what plans Nissan have for the SUV Market and the QQ - Dave ;)

It appears that the E-Market is beginning to pick up now also in the Truck Industry.
Daimler AG are now producing the Fuso eCanter under the Mitsubishi Fuso Brand with a 60-80 mile range.

It appears that there was an Alliance setup with Diamler AG / Renault-Nissan Alliance / Mitsubishi in 2012.

And now the Cummins Solution :

Tesla is planning to show off a concept truck on Nov. 16, around one month late - Dave ;)

Daimler AG is stepping up plans to roll out electric-powered trucks as the world’s largest maker of commercial vehicles seeks to fend off newcomers like Tesla Inc. and Deutsche Post AG.
The maker of Mercedes, Freightliner and Fuso trucks last week unveiled a prototype of a battery-powered heavy-duty truck as Daimler expands its lineup with electric offerings. while Deutsche Post has teamed up with Ford Motor Co. to boost production of its no-frills StreetScooter delivery vans. The German postal service developed the vehicle after it couldn’t find a suitable model for emission-free deliveries from Daimler and other from traditional manufacturers.

Switchback, I tend to agree with you on this point as the Tesla appears to have been designed for the US Market & Highways. If you are interested in doing a comparison between EU & US, here are a few facts 😲 - Dave 😉

This might be of interest just to view the interior design of the Tesla Semi Truck - Dave ;)

Unlike other trucks the Semi’s cabin is designed specifically around the driver, featuring unobstructed stairs for easier entry and exit, full standing room inside and a centered driver position for optimal visibility. Two touchscreen displays positioned symmetrically on both sides of the driver provide easy access to navigation, blind spot monitoring and electronic data logging. Built-in connectivity integrates directly with a fleet’s management system to support routing and scheduling, and remote monitoring. Diesel trucks today currently require several third party devices for similar functionality.
Megachargers, a new high-speed DC charging solution, will add about 400 miles in 30 minutes and can be installed at origin or destination points and along heavily trafficked routes, enabling recharging during loading, unloading, and driver breaks.

It looks like the competition to Tesla is beginning, this Electric Truck will probably beat Tesla’s to market. The Thor wants to throw down an Electric Hammer on Tesla and are storming into the Heavy-Duty EV Market – Dave ;)

thor-trucks-road.jpg

thor-trucks-side-angle.jpg

The Thor ET-One semi-tractor chassis comes from a Navistar. It uses heavy-duty Dana axles and an off-the-shelf motor from supplier TM4. It’s the vision of two 25-year-old entrepreneurs who are tapping family wealth to launch development of an electric heavy-duty truck. The giants such as Tesla Inc., Cummins Inc., Daimler Trucks and Toyota Motor Corp. are all building green semi-tractors.
The result is a steep, matte-gray cab that resembles the helmet of a medieval knight.
The prototype has aerodynamic fenders, a gulping front grille and a one-piece wraparound windshield. In-house battery packs, using cells from LG Chem are mounted to both sides of the chassis under side skirts. The truck has up to 300 miles of electric range with a full 80,000-pound load.
