Switchback, no problem :D .
Here is a classic example of the PRC / European Trading. I was in “Real” (large store like Tesco) and sitting in the Bike Area was an E-Roller called “Lipo” it was priced at €2399 now knocked down to €1999. Now a German Dealer on the Internet was charging €3300 and from Alibaba China around €1000. So when you compare these costs there is money to be made but naturally the Safety, Maintenance Issues are of importance - Dave :D

Advert from Real but in German but you can see what I mean :
https://www.real.de/markt/eroller/

From the Alibaba Website :

Being a life long petrol-head I thought the same until we tried one. The performance is amazing and it seems to instil a sense of calm and relaxation to the driver giving a really "chilled out" drive. As the old saying goes "Don't knock it until you've tried it". For days when I want something from the past I drive my Grinnall Scorpion but you just can't beat an electric for everyday use(depending on your daily mileage requirements). Ours is mainly for local use.
Drove a leaf for a day (half day courtesy car) and had a outlander phew for 2 days ..... hated them lol would have rather put my old cs50 roadie back in to commission but seeing as I do a 45 mile trip to work and back that wasn't going to be happening

The whole driving experience of combustion engines are my thing its genuinely a hobbie I don't drink and not in to football ect, I am quite partial to a watching drag racing, wife said I'm not a lower to do it any more along with motorbikes lol so it will be a sad day for me when they are a thing of the past. Can't beat the sound of a turbo spooling, the roar off a v6, a big engined v twin, the scream of a old 2 stroke and let's not forget the switch of vtek kicking in ...... yo lol

but you guys are ultimately right it's the future so will just need to suck it up and rig up some kinda sound emulator when I'm forced to go electric ....... if the council have any plans to make charging points accessible for people without a drive

For me, I'm thinking the "University of Leeds" are obviously cherry picking certain models to make things look great in their green garden. My wifes Smart car sniffs petrol, is cheap to insure & has insanely low running costs. I bet it was not used in any of this studdies data.

As Benjamin Disraeli once said "There are three kinds of lies: lies, damned lies, and statistics."

Electric is the future, but i doubt it's going to be battery powered. Chances are the future will be Hydrogen. If they can get it all to work.

As mentioned previously Nissan & EDF Partner to Advance Low carbon transport, now this - Dave :)

Nissan and EDF Group have signed a cooperation agreement to accelerate the delivery of electric mobility together – particularly through the smart charging of electric vehicles. This agreement applies to the United Kingdom, France, Belgium and Italy. The cooperation agreement focuses mainly on developing smart charging solutions (vehicle to grid, or V2G) by bringing together technologies developed and mastered by both companies. Smart charging refers to technologies that optimise the charging or discharging of an electric vehicle in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
