Gel, nice information it seems this method is being thought over a lot now as out here the plans have also started. This appears to be based on the method used for 3D TV advertising alongside the goal touchlines on a football pitch which are effective - Dave :D
Take look at the street painting and how effective that is :

Ahhh, the possibilities are endless, just think, the local councils could re paint potholes so they look like a level surface! In my mind i have a totally new vision for a "sleeping policeman"..... PC Plod laying prone across the tarmac......though somehow i suspect it may not contribute positively to traffic "calming" :-)

Me2

Works only if approaching exactly under the right angle I guess.
We did had a similar (visual) speedbump in our street back in the days and it worked amazingly well.
Inconvenience is, that once you know the trick you do not really slow down anymore.

Hopefully if this „Line of Sight“ concept using LED Lighting is implemented it will make crossings a lot safer - Dave :)

We need to petition Banksy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banksy to do something similar for the UK roads.
