Urban Electric announces the UEone pop-up charge point. Startup Urban Electric announces the UEone pop-up charge point for residential on-street charging of electric vehicles. £600,000 trial with Oxford City Council facilitated with grant from Innovate UK, the UK’s innovation agency.
Urban Electric decided that even in this case it is possible to minimize the charging station and offered their version of the "disappearing" charging of the UEone. This charge is built on the principle of an automatic bollard, which extends from its niche and hides back into the ground depending on the need to skip or block the passage of transport.
The UEone uses the same SmartCable as Ubitricity lamp posts, meaning that residents will be able to charge at any UEone pop-up or Ubitricity lamp post (Berlin Co. with existing outlets in London), creating a new standard for urban residential charging.
