Dave... I thought I read on here somewhere that you have to connect your phone with a cable...only I can't see none in that vid.

Other testers reported that several units were as bad, but that some were better
in this regard, which suggests a variability which will strike terror into the
hearts of Nissan's metronomic production engineers.

Had a look at the 1.3 at the local dealer today and I am here to report the facts. So far we have had the spin and the glossy mags but in the real world this is what we have:

1. The new connect unit is not deliverable on any of the current factory orders. It is expected some time next year. If you have a 1.3 on order it will arrive with the current connect unit. i.e. no apple carplay or android auto.

2. It is not all bad news. The specs have improved, the prices are similar and you get a "nippier" engine. You should also still aim for a discount on PCP of around 15% circa. £3,000+.

Redqashqai, Thanks for the information, but I am confused (it is easy these days). If you read the articles or even look at the videos on the Posts the New Nissan Connect seems to be there, are we to assume these models are “Demo” ones and not “Factory” Orders - just a question Dave :D

Dave. I believe that if the new connect features are an important part of the purchase then the individual should make it clear that the car will be rejected if the car is delivered with the old unit.

There is still some confusion over the fact that the new connect unit is available in two different versions. It may well be that the promo pictures are of the unit without built in satnav which just uses the drivers phone for navigation. This being the version for lower spec cars.

Clearly until the new cars come on stream and we get real world reviews we can only progress with caution.

I notice the review mentions hands free calling!!!!!!!

ut for most folk the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto software to allow simple, hands-free calling will be more significant. Other moans are the door facings, which rattle to the music and lack clever storage space.
