The DVSA are now asking that the MOT Test identifies cars that have not had “Recalls” Areas checked and corrected.
It is difficult keeping track of these so called “Recalls” for major ones the Manufacturers normally has to inform the Owner or you just have to keep your eyes open in the Press or as here on the Forums. There are also the Internal Modification Recalls, ones that just happen to pop up when the vehicle has a problem / defect - Dave 😉

These are the sort of documents you can find as an example :

This could be bit of a problem. My 2017 Tekna+ J11B has been subject to a recall for the last 9 months. It is for the VIN plate. The dealer keeps saying that the part has been ordered from Nissan and delivery will take about six weeks. 9 months later I'm still waiting.

A VIN plate issue wouldn't be a safety issue and hence not a problem?

Incidently my Ignis has VIN plates all over the place not just the usual place on the windscreen. There's one on the offside B pillar, one on each door, one on the hatch, one on the front grille and one on the rear bumper.

As I understand it the VIN plate on the door pillar is showing incorrect information regarding permissible weights for towing. I would have thought that could be considered a safety issue if it caused some future owner to exceed safe towing weight limits.

Good point. You'll have to make your own sticker up...

Instead of making assumptions take a look at this RAC information it might help. I suppose it really depends if repeat VIN Plates with the same numbers are really needed. I would ask somebody in the know and get it confirmed just in case it is a Fail - Dave 😉

The government website is showing the car as having an outstanding safety recall so I may well have a problem at some stage. It's surprising that a large company like Nissan seem incapable of suppling a label.
