Just read this article and was surprised how cold over the most of the UK it is. How are the QQ’s coping “Without” Winter Tyres. Hopefully the winter preparations have all been done - Dave 🤨

Weather is fine here near Boston, Lincolnshire. Bit of ice, -1 Deg C is nothing. My QQ is AWD, but would still prefer the roads to be clear.

Below freezing here in Scotland (no change there). Coping just fine on 19” alloys , more concerned about what the combination of short runs with heated windscreen front and rear, heated seats, blowers and radio are doing to my battery !

-2’C dusting of soft hailstones over black ice, no problems. That’s riding Continental ContiSportContacts 225 x 45 x 19 down to 3mm on the front and new Michelin’s on the back. The only anomaly that occurred was on the flat in static traffic going nowhere so had the epb engaged. Time to move off, foot on the gas and the car slewed diagonally towards opposing traffic! Quickly realised the car had sufficient grip on the almost worn fronts, enough to pull the car forwards, but there wasn’t enough friction on the new rear tyres to disengage the epb! Foot on the brakes and manually disengage the epb and we were on the go again. First time ever I’ve been static on ice with an epb and it had me stumped for a second or two. You live and learn!

Don't believe what the news tells you Dave, yes it has been cold in most of the UK and some have seen a little snow I think some parts of Wales has been hit bad.
Scotland are getting what they are very used to getting but nothing compared to what they have had in the past
Most of the UK is cold but as for the snow.hail and severe ice well it just has not took a grip as the news says.
Some of the North East have had a couple of very cold nights last night and the night before.
I think when the south get a dusting of snow the news seem to think its the end of the earth as we know it.

The news have been warning of a second Beast from the east hitting the UK and they made this up from the Met reporting that a sudden stratospheric warming has happened, but this does not mean we will get the same kind of bad snow we seen last time yes it could happen but there is no evidence to back up claims made by the news.

I have all weather tyres and so far had one day Tuesday in Manchester where we had a small snow fall. My main concern was the fact I got a warning to say assisted brakes was not working due to radar obstruction, ( Snow covered the front of the car ) just when you would need the extra help a bit of snow puts it out of service
