This happened to me once - in the Qashqai.

Usually it's not a problem clearing all the snow off the car except the roof - the snow stays there (albeit still a hazard blowing off for those behind!).

However with the Qashqai's panoramic roof, once the car warms up inside, the roof also warms quickly leading to the snow slightly melting and then the resultant water on a very smooth glass roof lubricates the whole lot which on braking suddenly shifts forwards and drowns the windscreen.

Fortunately there was a little less that illustrated above and the wipers immediately cleared enough away. However it was rather worrying and I always cleared the top afterwards...

Apparently snow on the car roof is not illegal But ........ - Dave 😉
If the Panoramic Roof has “RainEx” treatment then the snow normals does slide off under Braking !

More comments on dealing with snow - Dave :)

Quote : “This includes making sure all windows on their cars are cleared of snow and ice
The Highway Code rule states you must be able to see at all times while driving
Motorists are told to initially clear the windscreen by hand and failing to do so could be an expensive mistake”.
