Here you go an idea that seems to work (obviously open for discussion) and the only outlay is stealing the Wife’s Food Bag, but hopefully using only “Warm” Water - Dave 😉

When I first started driving (early 70’s) I used to use a nice old fashioned rubber hot water bottle

Enjoy scratching the life out of your windscreen. The only thing that should touch your windscreen is wind, water and wipers. Anything else is almost certainly going to leave tiny, light scratches which you'll see when the light hits it right or at night.

Just be patient, turn the heated windscreen or hot air blower on and wait.

QashqaiGuy, Good advice if you have that Facility not all QQ’s have Heated Screens like the Tekna. I have been watching a neighbour de-icing his new J11B and thought poor guy, when I asked him he had no Heated Screen ☹️. We have here down under the minus now and definitely I notice on the Side Windows that RainX treatment helps, Spray De-Icer and Scrap - Dave 😉

If you're parked outside your house or on your drive, I never understand why people scrape the windows.

Without trying to start a controversy, do you just sit shivering in the car until all the windows are completely clear ?
Presumably you can’t leave the car unattended, for security reasons.

I come out the house with warm water, unlock car, start car, turn on heated windscreen & rear window, blower on full windscreen. Pour warm water on windows, put jug in porch, shut porch door & return to car. Sit in seat, put seatbelt on, reverse off drive then drive to work. No shivering, no waiting, no security worries. ;)
