Gel, thanks for this information which in my eyes is a disaster for the UK and the Nissan Work Force if it is true and it seems to be getting worse.

Our local press saying no change to workforce numbers. Mentions more than 10% reduction in sales and also mentions union not happy because of a forthcoming pay rise negotiation. The diesel engine situation has had a massive effect on sales worldwide.

There seems to be confusion in the press here.

Some are reporting that production is being cancelled on Monday - but others are reporting that the cancellation of the proposed next-generation X-Trail will be announced on Monday. Completely different things!

Hence no immediate job losses since production of the existing X-Trail continues - in Japan only!

Gvmdaddy, what the hell does sky.news do as virtually every news story from the world mentions „according to Sky News” as if it is an online news feeder. Lets hope it is wrong as this would be no basic error but a disaster - Dave

The present X Trail is made in Japan. I had a look at sales figures on carsalesbase.com and Nov. 2018 was the lowest sales over the last 4 years at 2174 so they have really taken a dive from 11330 in Mar 2017. I don't think they are as good looking as the latest QQ so there new model, if it does ever go into production, will need to be something better.
