I'm old enough to recall a Met police Daimler Dart pulling up outside a local shop on the Purley Way, Croydon;

Gel, Thanks for that and I thought I was Old but this certainly brings back memories of when there was a lot of nice British Police Cars around. The MG’s, Riley’s, Truimph’s, Daimler Darts, Rover’s, Jaguar’s, Mini’s, Morris 1000’s, Morris 1100’s, Ford’s and on and on. I used to have a Mini Cooper S when I was “Young” and can remember getting pulled over by a not so friendly Dart - Dave

Ha. ha; I had 2 Mini Coopers, but both were 998cc variant.
One was an Austin, which replaced an earlier Morris branded one.
