Well it looks like the Datsun name is really beginning to show with the New Datsun Go Cross Concept SUV, first impressions seem reasonable - Dave
Datsun made a prudent business decision with the relaunch of its Datsun brand last year. The thinking was that, while any company selling cars in North America, Europe, Japan or Korea would have to fight tooth and nail for every little share of the market, the company that learns not to treat emerging markets as an afterthought could dominate them with very little effort. So, Datsun was relaunched, this time to actively sell to markets in India, Russia, Indonesia and South Africa. Datsun isn’t completely unchallenged in these markets, but the fact that 420 new Datsun dealers have been added to the network since the brand’s relaunch, shows that there was a lot of room for growth.
So, Datsun is jumping on these markets before anybody else gets the idea, and also looking into expanding into more. A wider variety of products will help with this, so a new Datsun GO-Cross concept was just unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show. The concept is a crossover based on the existing GO+ hatchback. This is because, at the moment, the closest thing to an appropriate crossover that Renault- Nissan has for these markets is the Dacia Duster, and that just isn’t quite right.

Datsun is expanding the Go platform and a possible crossover in its concept stage was shown at the ongoing 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The Go-cross concept will be the third product from Go hatchback platform, second being the Go+ MPV. The concept is the feasibility study model in the cross-over segment. The Go-cross design is typical to the crossover standards with raised ground clearance. The off-road potential is highlighted with skid plates in the front, rear and sides. The skid plates are mounted on the claddings that cover the bottom of all four sides and wheel arches. The concept sports hexagonal grille in line with the other Datsun model. The grille gets a black colour treatment for the first time adding sportiness to the crossover concept. The fog lamp placed near the headlamp unit. The LED lights are mounted within the air dams on the lower front part. The rear gets less boxy design compared to the Go+ MPV. The tail lamps in the concept also feature LED strips inside the cluster. Other notable additions are large alloy wheels in dark shade, roof rails and roof-mounted spoiler. Being a concept, the interior and the technical details have not been released by Datsun.
The latest figure of cars sold since Datsun GO was launched in India in March 2014 now stands at 114 000 units. The continued growth of sales and service networks in four existing markets and the expansion of offering three models in India. In India a totally new model will be launched at the beginning of 2016, which will be the first Nissan Motor model based on the new Renault-Nissan Alliance CMF-A basis.

- Qashqai Model: Still looking for one....
That looks quite reasonable!
My first car (in 1990) was a Datsun... a 280ZX with disintegrating sills! Engine and brakes were fab though.
My friends christened it "Thunderbird 3" and it looked like this:

The Datsun GO-cross Concept showcases the brand's vision for possible expansion of the Datsun GO/GO+ family in high growth markets. The concept investigates the market potential of a cross-over with spirit and a sense of adventure. It's a car that fully handles the day-to-day routine yet still has plenty left for holidays or weekend fun.

Here is a GO with some traditional "Airbrush" work done by Toni Airbrush in Jakarta. To me this was interesting as from what I can remember there has been no "Airbrushed" QQ's on the Forum, so this might be of interest - Dave
