I thought this was interesting, we have had “Mr.Trump” recently threatening to put Taxes on German Cars - Dave 🤐

“U.S President-elect Donald Trump warned German car companies he would impose a border tax of 35 percent on vehicles imported to the U.S. market, a plan that drew sharp rebukes from Berlin and hit the automakers’ shares.”

Now this has happened, with some 9000 MB SUV’s built in the US Tuscalossa Plant and shipped to Germany and are now being stored at an Airport in Alhorn Germany due to Quality Problems with 2 Suppliers for Seating and Bumpers and awaiting correction before being released to customers.

RAF Ahlhorn ...formerly Zeppelin base. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAF_Ahlhorn

The quality remains in the German airbase builds...not so much Merc?

Hi Colin, thanks for that information on RAF Ahlhorn, for me there is always an interest regarding aircraft. As you are “Thankfully unbusy (retired)” then this attachment might be of interest to you with a Beer of RAF Gatow Berlin well worth a visit next time in Berlin - Dave 😁

Hi Dave,

Kind of reminded me of RAF Cardington in Bedfordshire where we built airships: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cardington_Airfield

Did my RAF apprentice entry tests there.

I've seen a fair few German WW2 Military airfields in Europe...all very substantial. Think RAF Bruggen airfield is a motor industry test track...

Dortmunder Union comes to mind and many. many local breweries. I used to buy crates of beer from my german neighbours out of their garages. Plus wines that were not sold by supermarkets etc...thank god! Swapped a lot for awful Scots whiskey... I classed it as awful.
