Just noticed this thing...not nice looking? The domestic price will be 200,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan ($29,000 to $43,000). Something else coming along the Silk road railway perhaps.

German Connection:
If Aiways is successful, it will in part be because of its use of German know-how. Since the beginning, Fu has worked closely with his German business partner Roland Gumpert, a former Audi engineer and car-industry veteran, and their joint venture Gumpert Aiways now acts as the Chinese company’s Ingolstadt-based R&D center.

Dave ,,,I know China is loaded with their home market cars and I think most City public transport is EV type by law. Don't think it has reliability of much value. However, the ex-european auto engineers seem to be influencing design and with EU certification stuff. That changes it a bit? Styling is a bit ugly on that SUV...no doubt that'll change.

I'm surprised we are letting the Chinese take over British Steel. My Dinosaur/Trump headgear is flashing an alert.

Check out the new electric MG though - very cheap...

£21,995 makes it really competitive with petrol cars.

Colin, you mentioned the “Silk Road” over here it is called the “Seidenstraße” and this is some amazing feat that the Chinese have planned, when you see the Documentories on this is makes you think for the future. This Railway from Chongqing China through Kazakhstan, Russia, Belarus, Poland and on to Duisburg Germany (China Terminal) is 10,000 Kms and there are 25 trains a week using it. There is also the Sea Route they use - frightening Dave 😏
But and a Big But is that most of use by PRC stuff on a daily basis not only auto parts but also foods ☹️

In Germany for an example the Chinese recently in 2016 bought out the Kuka Robot Co. here (widely used in the Auto Industry), they invested 10% in Daimler and are building a Battery Factory in Arnstadt for $2 Billion. They also own 82,5% of Frankfurt-Hahn Airport and paid $17,7 Million this is the airport that Ryanair used to use. This is just an example of their plans most probably the UK is in the same Boat !

Noddy, it’s cheap OK but the mileage is a bit minimal for a private family vehicle use, but OK for the school run. Yesterday I was at our Nissan Dealer and there were at least 20x New Nissan E-NV200’s just delivered for a Berlin Rental Co. (Range 172 miles) which for Commercial use is I suppose OK and especially if the Chargers are available.
My question is still do we have to throw a cable from the top of an Appt. Block to charge an E-Vehicle or just do not one - Dave 🙂

The Yiwu – London Railway Line...part of the Belt and Road Business:
They have a slight hang up with the different rail line gauges and mainly due to the USSR.

It was into London in 2017...clothes apparently. There is an element of two way shipping in it like wine, agri stuff but I'm sure they want more our way and through Africa and Europe. It is a worry really and I see nothing from our so called "cleverer people" on it. Asia is bothered I think, but its easy to take the easy money and wreck countries in the process....Vietnam and so on

Think Italy has signed up to the Belt and Rail business...Nanny Brussels won't like that?

BBC stuff:
The first freight train from China to the UK arrives in London, having crossed seven countries in 18 days. The train left the city of Yiwu, on China's east coast, travelling 7,500 miles (12,000km), before arriving at a freight depot in Barking. It delivered 34 containers of clothes and High Street goods.

If you live in a terrace house, how do you charge your car ? Cables strung across the pavement is going to be an ambulance chasers wet dream ! It's ok if you have a driveway, but I know if I was a yoof of tomorrow, I'd find unplugging people's electric cars a fun pastime.

That "home charging" thing is barely discussed anywhere. It also includes the local power distribution infrastructure capacity....house main fuse limit, underground cabling, local transformers/contactors, and area distribution station (grid interface).

The security/safety issue is massive in densely populated areas. Think of flats.

It keeps pointing at car ownership disablement..walk, bike, bus. train. Add in Smart Meter selective power management ...off you go till we think you can have power again.
