I was looking at an article on Locks and came across this company in Heiligenhaus, Düsseldorf, Germany with Plants in 11 Countries. The Co. has 6500 workers, a Turnover of €830 Mio / year and manufactures 6 Mio Locks / year - Worldwide 70 Mio for Bonnets, Rear, Side Doors etc. Apparently a lock can have as many as 130 assembled parts from Plastic, Steel and Electrical. And as usual in 2012 a Chinese Co. “Lingyun” took them over but the output doubled.
The Technology used for Locks is new to me and I was surprised what is available, just thought this might be interesting - Dave
