Yes, I saw that note - but it's a compromise. And my phone isn't supported.

Gloucester, it’s the old old story some people might be interested and like it, some not because of it’s Spec limitations. I just posted in case some members are in fact interested. Now Regarding your phone comment sometimes you have to upgrade depending on your requirements, needs or just nice to have. Just an example we have just down loaded the “Corona Warn App” available here in Germany this week, but the Apple iPhones 5 & 6 (which we had before) are not compatible, but still at present 10 Mio have downloaded it in 3 days - Dave

Works perfectly well with the Qashqai. Got it delivered from Amazon yesterday £49.99 including delivery. Tried out many things. Hands free phone including reading texts. Playing Amazon music, Weather forecast, traffic info, internet radio, BBC sounds. Just like having Amazon Echo in your car playing through the car speakers.
Will link to Echo devices in your home for drop in conversations etc. can control home lights and heating.
The lack of bluetooth compatability WITH THE CAR isn't an issue for you can just connect your phone to the AUX socket in the car. The ECHO AUTO WILL use bluetooth to connect to your phone. Your phone has the alexa app running in the background. The alexa app on your phone does all the heavy lifting, essentially the new device provides a hands-free interface to control your phone. All you have to check is that your phone is not on the list of incompatable phones.
As you can see from the close-up picture the device is powered by USB. It is a tiny device 3 inches by 1.25 inches. If you are already a user of Alexa at home you will wonder how you ever got along without it.
A good thread as always by Dave Berlin to point out that we now have a solution for the thousands of Qashqai's out there with no hands-free.

Just a quick response to say that a Samsung S10 is a very recent high end phone - so I'm surprised it's not compatible.

Perhaps “Redqashqai” could help you !
On your iPhone, open the Settings app. Navigate to Bluetooth and open it. Say, “Alexa, pair” to put the Amazon Echo device in Bluetooth Pairing mode. With that command, Alexa should give you an audible acknowledgment that it is searching and confirm when your Echo device is in pairing mode.Jan 17, 2019
