Wasn't it a truck load of ANFO that blew the centre of Manchester to blazes in 1996. Got some of that sat a few inches from my chest whilst out in the QQ. Now that's a sobering thought.

Here are some more comments on this problem mainly from the US Legal side, payouts and some not so nice comments on the injuries involved - it all just needs bearing in mind what unexpected problems can arise when motoring - Dave http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-11-1 ... ctims.html

Life has its dangers I guess and in just the same way no one seems prepared to take responsibility for ensuring their tyres are fit for purpose but rely on TPMS so it goes with accidents hence the airbag. Now, when it comes to actually being in an accident, say someone hitting you at 40mph there's at least a fair chance that with a Nissan Airbag you might escape with little more than a few bruises. There again the airbag might kill you - your call!

How we survived crossply tyres and a solid chassis that meant if you hit something at 40mph you might just bend a bumper and break a headlight ill never know lolSeatbelts were something puffs wore and we all protested at the nanny state and when the glass went then if you wasnt wearing glasses you had very sore eyesNowadays its all health n safety yet it apears more dangerous than ever, how are these chemicals getting passed into everyday features? they tried to ban Lava lamps lol

I agree had a puncture in a 1940 Morris minor convertible with hood down, car turned over. Rolled it back on wheels, put oil in and Set off again. Small dent in front wing. No other damage. Driver and passengers fine

PeterL, whilst we were in the US our neighbours (who is a German Polizist) wife was hit from the front by a Trailer that had come loose from a Pickup Truck and had no injuries. The car was a Mercedes Benz Vaneo (a complete write off) and believe it or not they said not one AirBag went of - makes you think ! Dave

If you look at this video (give it time to open up) and see the injured person you will hear that it is beginning to get very hot against Takata in the US - Dave
