ARI 458 E-Transporter

Last weekend I read an article on this AR 458 E-Transporter and it reminded me of thedays of the old Mini Pickup. This ARI to me looks an interesting vehicle with its options for local deliveries, Handyman useage etc - Dave

This Transporter is constructed by ARI Motors GmbH in Borna near from Leipzig, Germany about 140 Kms from us and I have never heard of the Company. It is produced in cooperation with the Chinese Co. “Jiayuan EV” based in Nanjing who have been producing e-vehicles since 1982.
The chassis comes from Nanjing and the final assembly takes place by ARI. There are various options available from a Pickup, Refrigerator, Box, Tipper etc....See the options below :

This ARI could well be a competitor for the Italian Piaggio APE 3 Wheeler made in India which is less expensive, has a 435cc Diesel Euro 4, Stinker, smaller turning circle etc........

The ARI has various options available regarding Batteries (see Battery Options), Solar Cells, Different Bodies, Electrical Extras and a Basic Price from €11,700 (£10,600).

My brother had a Mini pick-up (not for business use, although he was a carpenter, it was just something he could afford and that our Dad approved of) in the mid-60's a bit unreliable (as were many Minis) but a cracking little run-around when it was in the mood. He swapped it for a Mini van which was "assaulted" in a car park by a large delivery van and written off.

MikeGC, Snap ! I had a brand new Mini Van when I was an apprentice in 1962 and it cost me £375 which in those days was a fortune. Had the roof sprayed Black and a few mods done ( I worked for Smiths Industries Instruments in those days so it had a few extras) and then little brother wrote it off on a Motorway Bridge after I bought a 997cc Mini Cooper. These older Minis were like Go-Karts in those Days and Fun to drive - Dave

Dave, my brother's pick-up was the same green as your van. His van was what we now call gun metal grey.
