car outside temperature gauge

hi guys, might appear a silly question, my car outside temperature showed 29 degrees today, not the engine temerature guage, wondered how this works and where it is on my qahqai, that the wind or engine heat doesn't effect it? asked friends this question and started a nice discussion but nobody knows so any ideas please

I have a vague memory that the external temperature sensor is hidden behind the front bumper.

Its behind the front bumper out of the head on gales.

of the radiator. The sensor may be affected by road
or engine heat, wind directions and other driving
conditions. The display may differ from the actual
outside temperature or the temperature displayed
on various signs or billboards."

thank you guys, sorry a bit late, had the car since march 24 and finally give it a good run this weekend, from N Yorks to Berwick, across to Glasgow, met up with family, back down the M74 and across back to N Yorks, she handled beautifully, anyway I digress, thank you for your help and advice, I appreciate it
