It sounds to me like they had already planned the run-out of the J11b but, now there's a delay in the introduction of the former 2020 new Qashqai to 2021, they're having to cobbled together cars based on what parts they still have available.

Hence the deletion of the safety equipment on the N-Connecta and the introduction of Tekna and Tekna+ features on the N-Motion - note the latter isn't showing with painted sills and wheelarches in this illustration:

Gloucester, from what I know the Old QQ J11B Production Stop was planned for Oct.20 and then the new QQ Planned Limited Production Time from Oct.20 until March 21 for the reduced remaining 3 variants. The Color Coded Sides were originally Tekna + Spec (which we have) and then if you remember the nice N-TEC variant came along with the Color Coded Sides and they do appear to be omitted - Dave 🤗

As you say this is the sort of comment being mentioned which ties up with the Nissan Plan : “The new Nissan Qashqai is expected to be revealed officially at the end of 2020 or the start of 2021, and then go on sale towards the second half of 2021.”

I think we are on the Right Track regarding the New QQ Models (not the Specs) available from Oct. 2020, here is what is being offered by “Nissan Motability” as information - Dave 👍

Interestingly, I am also on the Mercedes Benz forum and the UK spec for Mercedes has also been drastically reduced, much to the anger of members who are looking to buy a new car. So I guess it's not just Nissan.

I would have thought that it quite likely that all European manufacturers would be thinking of reducing the spec of cars destined for the UK. As seems likely with a no deal Brexit there will be tariffs and probably a sizeable reduction in the UK exchange rate. If they want to sell cars then reducing the spec is a good way of trying to stabileize to cost of the product.

Not really the way to sell, especially when you can ask a premium for extras like leather seats, which Mercedes have stopped supplying, why I don't know, many of us still eat meat :D It was always that manufacturers supplied a base vehicle and then asked extra for extras like radios, yes they were not always standard, neither were heaters or air con. Not the way I would promote my product.

There is another knock on effect to this - to those who lease or PCP their cars , the calculated residuals are lower - so payments go up

Won't that happen anyway when there's a model change imminent?

Just as information, today I received an email from Nissan Germany stating that the QQ is the most sold Crossover in Europe with facts on the New QQ Model “Shiro” stating 0% Tax / 0% Financing / 0% Down Payment - Dave 😉

The facts are in German as this is purely for reference to show that the facts are beginning to appear :
