I have a quick question.

My dealer have me a 13 digit VIN/Serial number for the car.

I know most car companies have a website where you can type in the vin(or last 7) and it pops up with all information on the vehicle. Build date, color, options, etc.

I cannot find this for Nissan.

Here is the number they gave me.
<Admin removed VIN number for users safety>

is there a site, or can someone run that number for me? Car is new & not registered yet.

VIN numbers have 17 characters. A Qashqai VIN looks something like this: SJNFDAJ11U1515671

So whatever the number is they gave you, I can't help - sorry!

But welcome to the forum....

If you Google < Nissan vin lookup > several sites come up. Haven't used any - is there a risk?

I have, but all of them require 17 digit VIN.
She assured me, that is what is on the Reg paperwork. So I told her, that they need to visually check the numbers because 4 digits are missing.

Ive been dealing with cars since the mid 80's. I just wasnt sure if European built cars NOT designated for the USA still used the old 13 digit code. I know the EU and North America have different VIN standards. Although very similar they are different.

No risk at all for using those sites.
BMW has MANY sites where all you do is input the LAST 7 of the VIN.

Use DN89091 and click "i am not a robot". It will pull up all info about my car.
Realoem.com works but it only tells you country, year, engine. Nothing about options.

I cannot seem to find any sites for Nissan that do this.
Ive had 8 Nissans in my life. Although they were all S13 & S14 (180sx & 240sx) that I built for racing( mostly drifting when I was stationed and living in Japan). Had 3 S13's when I lived in Florida.
I honestly never looked at the VIN on any of them enough to even know it. It was like...yeah, its there & matches the title..okay. Most ended up as scrap...lol.
