Although they look nice aesthetically, I question the added value and practicality of these running boards. They appear to reduce the ground clearance of the car and offer little if anything of a platform to aid as a step to either get in or out of the vehicle. Some users have even found them a hindrance. Maybe they are more suited to much larger vehicles with a higher ground clearance.

Nismo.Aus, a nice job and good documentation. Please do not take this as a Knock as I personally like these Running Boards they look good (cosmetic) but to me are not practical as mentioned by gvmdaddy. I was serious about buying some but after trying them on my brothers Audi Q7, a friend's Chevy Captiva and a MB GL550 I personally found them not easy to use when getting in and out.

Here is an attachment which I suppose sums the question up : https://www.autotrader.com/car-news/i-r ... why-260914

Do not get me wrong I am not against them and I am sure they will work for you - Dave ;)

Nismo.Aus, that is why we added the Side Protection Strips to prevent damage but these are positioned much higher and in nearly 3 years as yet no damage. Your Side Steps do lay well under a normal Door Opening Level but the reason is the correct one and you got a good price and the "Looks" - Dave :)

Do they interfere with the jacking points on the vehicle?

gvmdaddy, the sides steps support bars does not interfere to the jacking points.
