Hi Mitch

The sets I used in the video where plug and play but that is in the cigarette lighter... Not the neatest solution imho.
The are not plug & play in the original connector behind the kick panel, that is for the OEM footwells only.
So please watch the video tutorial and all your questions will be answered. ;)

Cheers

Well took the plunge and fitted the footwell light kit (KE630HV51A), just need to wait for it to get dark to see the full effect.

Nice! Didn't know the OEM version was fitted on the side kick panel.

Cheers

To be honest I thought that they would fit somewhere near the OBD port and shine down, when I read the instructions and it said to drill a hole in the kick panel it threw me a bit.

If you watch the video I linked to earlier in this discussion (credit to La Palmeraie for this) then you can see you have two options to power your home made puddle lights the way you are likely to want them to work.
Either use wires at the M54 connector (located behind glove box) (violet & brown) or the R14 connector (Violet & Red) located at the interior light dome.

I did not fancy taking all the glovebox/dash apart to find the elusive M54 connector so went for the easier option of the R14 as I had done before for the footwell lights.

So I would suggest trying the R14 (violet & red) wires as I know from my experience that it works.

But as you have already taken your car apart then it should work with the Violet & Brown wires of the M54.

Which you have said you have tried, but did you have a door open at the time of testing as this would most likely override anything and also (think not possible to do without being outside) you need to be outside of the vehicle with the key to properly lock which again may be effecting things if you are not doing this. Thanks RiveriaMan, I'm sorry I didn't answer earlier but I really had a lot to do, I finally finished installing the puddle lights and footwell lights, here is the result.https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/ ... sp=sharing Many thanks also to lapalmeraie for the video. :)

Look good, what did you use as a carrier to actually mount the puddle lights into and then fix to the underside of the vehicle? The original Nissan version looks like square plastic cable conduit.

Hi All,
Got the puddle lights and installed the physical parts quite quickly. I've now got to the wiring loom part. Do I use this connection that came with the puddle lights or do I wire the black and red cables from the puddle lights directly into the M54 connector.

Hi JD
When I got mine I didn’t bother with the controller unit they provided in the Nissan Kit, I simply wired to the R14, but as you appear to have found and are holding the M54 connector then I would simply connect Red & Black wires of puddle lights from both sides to the Violet & Brown of the M54.
