2WD 1.6 dci Tekna review
Well after 4 weeks and over 2k miles of ownership, I thought
I'd give my initial thoughts on my 1.6 dci Tekna 2WD
Good points:
Economy is superb car shows 60+mpg. My commute is 60 mile,
of which 95% of dual carriageway and motorway (albeit through 50mph road works
for 15 miles)
Nissanconnect does work (iPhone 5s running iOS 8.0.2), yes
the phone needs to be connected via a cable
Music from an iPhone works well, even shows album artwork on
the screen when connected via a cable
Hands free telephone calls are clear
Satnav works, although some of the routes appear a tad
dubious
Speed sign recognition is faultless, even picks up the 5mph
in the office car park
Heated windscreen is superb
Sound system is perfectly adequate, I'm sure it won't win
any What Hifi awards though
Lots of storage in the cabin, cavernous storage between
driver and passenger seat
Rear legroom is good for adults
Proximity cameras are good for reversing, but I still think
I'll be checking over my shoulder and mirrors
Auto full beam works well, although can't see a way to
override (except turn it off)
Not so good points
Economy shown in car isn't accurate,
despite car saying its doing 60+mpg, my Fuelly account shows less than 54mpg (see signature below).
Can't access the phone book via the controls on the steering
wheel
Nissanconnect Apps are limited (still trying to work out
when I'd use them)
Blind spot warning lights can go off randomly, but you get
used to them
Still trying to work out what the chassis control /trace
does apart from showing blue lines when being "enthusiastic' on roundabouts
If you want to put bikes on roofrack mounted carriers, you
need to be over 6 ft. tall (fortunately I am)
Rear visibility isn't great, however wing mirrors make up
for it
My car doesn't have auto folding wing mirrors (but I have
ordered an aftermarket kit to resolve this)
Bonnet is very heavy (not that I'll be opening it except to
fill windscreen washer bottle and check oil)
Auto handbrake isn't particularly smooth when pulling awayBoot is on the small side, but removable floor / partitions
have been used a number of times. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the view from
the various cameras when the road salt starts getting spread and the car has 2
months' worth of road grime on it. If I remember I'll update this thread in a
couple of months. All in all, I'm happy with the car and its economy has
surpassed my expectations. Roll on the next few 1000 miles.

I'm happy with the ride in both cars. I do feel like i could put the Audi into a corner without too many issues, however, not sure I could do the same with the QQ.

Nice honest review, I find the QQ on 19 inch wheels not only rides very smoothly, but cornering is superb, I have left many cars floundering behind me on the tights bends in North Yorkshire. In fact I would say the QQ is one of the best and most comfortable drives I have had in over 50 years of driving.I recently drove one of my sons collection of cars, a Wolseley 1500 dated 1959 and it was frightening. I actually had one of these in the mid 1960's and I cannot believe how hard they are to drive compared to new models.

It is indeed excellent how car sits on 19" wheels at high speed while cornering, it's like a train on rails!
Hi Langy, thanks for the review. Could you please let us know about any annoying noise, e.g. engine, wind, road etc?
Road noise is minimalI don't really notice wind noise and to be honest I don't drive the car in silence, so I just turn the radio up a bit more The engine isn't the quietest, but then again there are a series of controlled explosions happening under the bonnet when the car is running, so you can't really expect it to be silent (unless you buy a Rolls Royce) There are a couple of rattles from the passenger door card (i think), something from the dash and the bootlid sounds as though its semi open when you drive over speed bumps. All will be mentioned to the dealer when I can be bothered to take it back or it gets it's 1st service in a few months.
