Qashqai Model: Mk.3 Qashqai - J12 (2021+) New Model

Hi

During my search through the net for info abt QQ, I found this interesting conversation.

My family has been Nissan owners for at least 30 yrs now. From my side, back in 2004, I bought a Renault Megane and regret it since then. Its faults, electrical and mechanical are numerous.

Having studied the partnership between Renault and Nissan, I' ve found out that Nissan is better at the petrol engines and the auto gearing, while Renault specialises in diesel and manual transmission.

From my point of view, there would be no way to buy a car with Renault engine. I'm so concerned abt this partnership that I've even sent email to Nissan headquarters asking "how much of Renault exists in the QQ?" :D (some guy replied that I should contact the........dealer).

I've read many surveys as well. To be honest I'm not sure what to believe. If you read a german study, Toyota is usually below the top (in some cases by far).

In fact, buying a car is like a lottery, We, the buyers, just want to minimize the probability of fault. As far as I'm concerned, I may have the ability to purchase a second hand QQ 1-2 yrs old at a relatively good price. My other options are a brand new Octavia, a new Auris/Corolla, or a Huyndai.

IF they use a standard one-fits-all map however, they are probably running the engine on the lighter side to cope with regional temperature changes and fuel quality. For me its about quicker response at low end and fuel economy, but I won't have an off-the-shelf map, ill give it some dyno time.
All car makers are calibrating their engines according to the area where the vehicles are sold. There is no global map. They need to adjust to regulations and climate and probably other legal or market requirements. Same car sold in Brasil (or South America in general) will not have same engine maps as the ones sold in Europe, for example. I know Renault generates hundreds of map configurations each year for all software releases, for all regions where each is sold. Same does Ford and and the same do all other manufacturers.

Now well over 20,000 miles and the car hasn’t missed a beat.
Forums are full of people who look for help with problems and over the years people who have had no problems withdraw slightly so that they don’t seem to be over praising or even bragging
