Well now at the 2 year point of ownership and at 20k miles. The car has behaved impeccably and the rattle fix applied by Nissan a good while back has worked well. The car is in for its second service, at £329 fixed price. They offered to do the D605 firmware update to my head unit too. Tyres are still doing very well with at least 5 mm of tread left on the fronts and more on the rears so I don't see any problems making 30k before the fronts need changing (18 inch wheels and driving sedately I guess).

Whilst I am happy with the tyres, they are taking photos of the diamond cut wheels and I will progress a warranty claim to have at least 3 of them replaced due to corrosion starting at the wheel centres. 1 is really quite bad, 2 are getting there and the 4th is just starting so we'll see how I get on. I can't fault Smiths of Peterborough in any way and I would thoroughly recommend them to anybody. Whilst this is my first Nissan from them I previously had 2 Renaults through the same group and I cannot fault the Smiths Group at all.

For those interested, I was also offered an Air Con Service and top up for £99 (I guess plus VAT) so that doesn't sound too bad for the new air con gas. Don't need it atm but may do at the 3rd service.

Picked up the car to find they have fitted a new battery as the Fiamm original failed a capacity check. All round very happy.

Just had phone call from Smiths Group, Nissan have agreed to replace 3 of the 4 wheels. I guess I need to wait a couple of months to submit another warranty claim for the 4th as the corrosion worsens.

Nissan finally agreed to replace all 4 wheels which are now resplendent on the car. However I spoke with the guy doing the warranty claim who informed me that the wheel spec/part number hasn't changed so somewhat concerned that at year 4 i.e. 1 year outside warranty I may well be in the same position again!

Well, now had the QQ for 3 years and just over 30,000 miles. Since my last post, there are signs of corrosion on 2 of the 4 wheels replaced under warranty at the 2 year point, so quality control on the wheels remains poor. I will wait until they all show significant problems then have them repaired by a local wheel guys I have used for other cars. Still on the original Continental tyres which have about 5mm tread on the fronts and 6-7 mm on the rears. I will probably get 40k out of the fronts before they need replacing so can't really complain at that. No other issues this year so touch wood I'll keep it for another year as I don't expect to do more than 5 or 6k miles before the next service due in Aug 21.

Well just an update at the 5 year point. Car has just made 43k miles and I have had the cam belt changed this week. I have also had to replace the front tyres for the first time at 43k so I can't complain about the Conti tyres on 18 inch wheels. I have replaced them with Dunlop SportMaxx so we will see how these work out. Can't really fault the car or dealership service (Smiths Nissan of Peterborough). I have decide to start servicing it myself except for things like the cam belt and I have just given it a major service which was reasonably straightforward. Getting at the oil filter was the most difficult part and burping the coolant system to get rid of an air blockage was worse than doing a Mazda MX5 lol. Its nice to see that changing the fuel filter is much easier than a previous Renault Clio with an older version of the 1.5 diesel engine too.

I'm amazed your tyres lasted so long. I had to replace the ones on my Qashqai at 14,000 miles (when I also put the Dunlops on) and I've just replaced the ones on my Ignis at 13,000 miles!

I'm guessing your wheels are the 19 inch ones as opposed to 18's?

Yes, mine were - but the rolling circumference is the same so why did they wear out so quickly I wonder?

I'm guessing sport tyre so less tread to start with and maybe a wider profile which wear tyres much quicker.
