I was told by ATS that the J11 QQ uses a gas that should last for 4 years. They added that Nissan generally recharges the gas as part of the third annual service. (I got 3 years free servicing when I bought my QQ & the air-con was recharged as part of that service). My QQ will be 5 years old in September and at the moment the air-con temp is 9c which is fine. I was also quoted £150 for a full recharge (not including cleaning the system - that is an extra cost).
Have you got a Westway Nissan near you? It's £99 for an aircon service (cleaning + regas) there. ... ice-or-mot

Yes I have. Thanks for the tip.
PS: I got my cam-belt and water pump changed at a local garage (in Bury) for £265 - much cheaper than Nissan's price.

My local Garage is not equipped for the new gas for my 2014 model so they pointed me in the direction of a specialist air-con company in Swindon who quoted £200 + VAT for the full air con charge, pressure test and service.
By chance I decided to try the local main dealer, Fish Brothers, who came back with £99 for the above. quality!.
