That's replaced at every annual service so why replace it twice? Costs £40 as part of the service...
I don't live in a heavy pollen area, so won't bother with this

There are two options for your Air Conditioning:

Air Conditioning Refresh
An air conditioning refresh is an anti-bacterial treatment which will completely cleanse the system, ensuring that you’re breathing fresh air in your vehicle and nothing else. An annually recommended treatment, it is especially beneficial for people with hay fever or asthma.
Full Air Conditioning Service and Recharge
Around 10% of refrigerant gas can seep out of the air conditioning system each year. If there is insufficient refrigerant charge, not only can your system not operate effectively, but it could potentially lead to internal system damage. An air conditioning service involves recharging the system with gas and lubricant as well as removing all moisture and debris.

My experience is that in over 11.5 years ownership of two Fabias I only had a recharge once - at a cost of £35 (it was the cheaper gas) - and no "service".

My experience with the Qashqai was a failed condenser and a warranty claim!

My dealer refused to drop the pollen filter from the service despite the fact I'd only done 5,000 miles since the last one.

It's cleaning the bits the air passes through not the fluid...
And the point of that is ?? I'm sure you're just making this up.
No, he's correct, the bit the air passes through i.e. when it blasts into your face, can get covered with mould and bacteria internally and you're getting a face full of crap.

My dealer has never replaced a pollen filter (or engine air filter for that matter) in 6 years of major and minor services. Always had to do it myself instead.

Complained at the last one and they did replace the pollen filter begrudgingly, but ended up putting it in the wrong way round.

Better off doing it yourself to be honest, they're cheap enough.

They are parts inside the car, called ducting ! Nothing external in anything mentioned.

Noddy1875 - you are being perverse in your interpretations. I said "external clean" specifically - and obviously - in respect of the "sealed system" - i.e. the refrigerant circuit itself.

They filter out a lot more than pollen....

That was the old one next to the new one last time I replaced it! ALL your internal cabin air goes through this, so if you don't change it regularly you are restricting the airflow, one of the reasons demisting takes longer..
